Two red pandas (Ailurus fulgens) arrived at the Debrecen Zoo yesterday morning.
The red pandas, also known as red cat-bears, came from Assont, France.
Originally the red panda is native to the Eastern Himalayas and Southwestern China. The small arboreal mammal has been classified as Vulnerable by IUCN as its wild population is estimated at less than 10,000 mature individuals.
