Traditionally, All Saints’ Day is the memorial day for the dead in Hungary. To firt everyone’s faith, ecclestiastical and secular commemorations were also held in the cemetery of Debrecen.
During the long weekend, thousands of people visited their dead relatives and friends in cemeteries throughout the country.
In the cemetery of Debrecen, visitors could participate in a Roman Catholic mass and a Calvinist church service. For the non-Christians, the actors of Csokonai Theatre presented a secular commemorational programme.
